Get a consultation for a Facelift todayFirmer skin, a fresh complexion, and a wrinkle-free face: Are anti-aging creams from the drugstore or expensive high-end products from the pharmacy or online failing to deliver the desired lifting effect? No wonder, since no active ingredient penetrates deeply enough to visibly and effectively firm the skin. For long-term results, only aesthetic treatments can provide a solution. Since the body’s own production of collagen—the protein responsible for our skin’s elasticity—declines sharply starting at age 25, the skin becomes increasingly saggy with age. The natural aging process cannot be stopped with creams. Dr. Münzberg can remove excess skin through a facelift at his private practice for aesthetic surgery. For a youthful and wrinkle-free appearance once again.
A facelift, also known as a facial rejuvenation procedure, is a highly effective yet gentle treatment that restores a younger, fresher appearance to your face. A well-performed facelift, carried out by an experienced specialist such as Dr. Münzberg, gives you a younger, fresher look and acts as a rejuvenating treatment for your skin. For this reason, facelifts are a particularly popular area of facial surgery. To achieve lasting results, it is important in every facelift (whether a full, medium, or small S-lift) to also tighten the subcutaneous muscle-aponeurotic system (SMAS).
No fillers are used in this procedure, ensuring you achieve a particularly natural-looking result.
During the consultation, please feel free to share your ideas and wishes with Dr. Münzberg. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, he can explain your options and tell you how extensive the facelift needs to be to achieve the desired result. Since every person is unique, there is no one-size-fits-all treatment.
Before the procedure takes place, Dr. Münzberg will examine you thoroughly. To assess your health, we will take a small blood sample. Two weeks before the procedure, you should avoid nicotine, alcohol, and blood-thinning medications such as aspirin.
Dr. Münzberg’s specialist clinic for aesthetic surgery offers a variety of facelift procedures, ranging in scope and fully customizable to your personal wishes and needs. A mini-facelift, also known as an S-lift, tightens the cheeks and nasolabial area. The incision is typically made in front of the ear and offers results that last slightly shorter than those of other facelift procedures. The mid-facelift generally covers the cheek, jawline, and neck areas. The incision is usually made in the temple area, which is concealed by hair. The incision then runs in front of the ear or inside the ear, extending backward to the hairline at the nape of the neck.
In a full facelift, the forehead, temples, cheeks, jawline, and neck regions are tightened. Good blood circulation and rapid skin healing ensure that scars are barely visible. The duration of the surgery depends on the extent of the treatment and typically ranges from a minimum of three to a maximum of five hours.
To achieve optimal results and a tightening of the entire face, an additional neck lift and liposuction with an incision at Dr. Münzberg’s specialist clinic may be necessary in some cases.
A facelift can be performed on an outpatient basis or in a hospital under general or local anesthesia. The hospital stay lasts approximately 1 to 2 days.
The results of the facelift are immediately visible. Only minor swelling, which subsides within a few days, affects the outcome of the procedure.
In the first few days following the aesthetic treatment, you should take it easy physically. We recommend that you wear a face/chin protection mask for five days during this recovery period to protect the treated area. The sutures will be removed after approximately 8 to 10 days. The recovery period lasts approximately 2 to 3 weeks. We recommend that you avoid direct sunlight for the next three weeks following the treatment. We also recommend that you refrain from using the sauna during the first few days.
Another option for restoring firmness and contour to the face is a thread lift. In this procedure, sagging skin is gently repositioned to its original position using medical-grade PDO threads.
